Problems with Preachers
Problems with Preachers
Problems with Preachers. Geesh, anybody ever have a problem with a preacher? He preaches way to loud, he is too quite, He talks about sin too much, he talks about love too much and never about sin. He preaches too long, too short, never has time, has clicks, fusses at my kids, looks at my wife wrong, he dresses poorly, he tries to push me to do stuff I do not want to do.
Honestly, this guy is whacked! He laughed at his own jokes, he cries all the time, he is insensitive…… get the picture, preachers are nothing but problems! And they never have time for me!!!!!!
I agree on all accounts, preachers are all of these things, and more! You forgot, Arrogant, selfish, rude, mean and down right snobby and SWEATY!
That about sums up the problem with preachers, right? I know, not really, your list is much bigger and longer and possibly correct. But, for the next few minutes, I want to share what I believe is the Problem with Preachers.
We can have a power packed God showed up and showed out service, and one word, or one social media post can make us doubt that we got it right.
2. We are our own worst critics. We literally beat ourselves up constantly.
3. We have to stand before hundreds of people and say “Thus saith the Lord” when often times, we are not 100% sure that it is from Him.
4. We feel guilty when we take a day off, even to the point that we are sick, not because we are sick, but because we are afraid we are letting everyone down.
5. We are constantly trying to help folks who do not want help. And then we are angry at ourselves because we could not help.
The list goes on, Problems with Preachers, yea, I have a lot of problems with them, from both sides of the fence. As I sit here this morning, heartbroken, literally heartbroken over the 1 or 2 that I thought had found their praise yesterday, but they did not. I cannot help but think, either you are doing something so right, or you are doing so much so wrong….
Nutshell: Love God, Love People ……. try to love yourself, and pray that occasionally you get one right.
P.S. I am not disappointed, depressed, beat up, or ready to give up! My resolve is strong and our future is bright, so before you send me the message feeling sorry for me, Don’t. I am doing great, I am not depressed or giving up. I am right where God wants me to be. I am smiling and doing good, I just wanted you to know that when you have a Problem with Preachers, remember, they get up every morning, put their pants on like you do, and like you they deal with issues too.
And for the record, I have a lot of Problems with Preachers too! (myself included)
Love you all, have a great day,
