It's Good To Be Loved

From the Rhino’s Pen,

Opened my bible app this morning, and saw the following as the verse of the day. It spoke to me. But as you know, (if you know me at all), the Love of God is my favorite subject. Probably because I have had a not so good past, and because I spent many years walking in guilt, thinking God hated me and was waiting on me to screw up again. So when I truly found love, the Love of God, and realized He is actually for us, and not against us, it changed my life forever. Now when I screw up, I can hear Him cheering for me to get up, repent and moved forward. God has never been out to get me or you. And if I do see it that way, it’s because I just haven’t gotten to know Him well enough to learn how much He loves me. So here is that verse.

Romans 12:

9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

Love must be sincere, and if it is to be sincere then it must follow loves guidelines, in my opinion. Here are those guidelines.

1 Cor. 13:

1 I may speak in different languages of people or even angels. But if I do not have love, I am only a noisy bell or a crashing cymbal.

2 I may have the gift of prophecy. I may understand all the secret things of God and have all knowledge, and I may have faith so great I can move mountains. But even with all these things, if I do not have love, then I am nothing.

3 I may give away everything I have, and I may even give my body as an offering to be burned. But I gain nothing if I do not have love.

4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud.

5 Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not get upset with others. Love does not count up wrongs that have been done.

6 Love is not happy with evil but is happy with the truth.

7 Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes, and always remains strong.

8 Love never ends……..

Love doesn’t rely on anointing, or gifts, or knowledge or even faith. Those things work together with love, and without love, those things don’t mean much.

Love doesn’t expect us to get it all right away, and discard us if we don’t. Ain’t that cool!

Love is gentle and kind when I don’t get it, not arrogant and mean. That’s even cooler!

Love isn’t selfish, love doesn’t even get upset when you don’t get it, That makes my heart happy, because sometimes I am slow to get it. (after all it took me years to understand Gods Love for me)

Love is happy with the truth, but it certainly isn’t happy, joyous or vengeful when it sees evil. You have to love that? Right? I know I do, because I just don’t always get it right, and I am so thankful that true love isn’t out to get me, but rather it is out to embrace me, restore me and bring me back to right standing.

Love has patients, it trust, and it always hopes! In other words, Love believes in you!

Love never ends, so it can’t lose. Even when it is trampled under foot, it rises back with perfect love.

Other places in scripture tells me that love casts out fear, and love covers multitudes of sin, just think…. LOVE IS FOR YOU!!!!!!

And to think, God, my God, my Father, is love. He has never, nor will He ever be out to get you. Condemnation, anger, malice, hatred, leave that for those who refuse love, and embrace today the love of your Heavenly Father. And if you still wonder what that is…. Just open the book and you will find it from Cover to Cover.

I can honestly say, I love you, no matter who you are, what color, what religion, I still love you. I may not agree with you, I can still choose to love you.

I pray that God blesses you richly today. And that you can smile as you feel His love shine down on you.
